Summer Apple Varieties
  Lodi:  Available late June to mid July.  Fruit is pale yellow flushed with deeper yellow. Flesh is crisp and juicy, flavor is sweet-tart. Ripens later than Transparent and keeps longer.  Good for sauce.

Earligold:  Available mid July to late July.  Medium size, clean yellow skin. Limited shelf life.  Good all purpose apple.

Paula Red:  Available mid July to late July.  One of the better ealy season eating apples. Small to medium apple, taste is mild.  A relative of the McIntosh Family. 

Red Free:  Available late July to mid August.  Classically shaped apple that is ribbed and medium sized.  Flesh is crisp and juciy, flavor is tart.  Red blush over yellow green.  Excellent early apple!  Good all purpose apple.

Gala:  Available mid August to early September.  Excellent for fresh eating. A very pretty, medium size, conical to round fruit with yellow skin patterned with bright orange-red. Firm, juicy, yellow white flesh. Sweet slightly tart flavor.

Jonalicious:  Available mid August to early September.  The perfect combination of sugar and spice - taste of Red Delicious and the tart freshness of Jonathan. A crisp texture makes it ideal for eating, cooking or fresh eating. 

Golden Supreme:  Available mid August to late August.  This is an excellent all purpose apple.  Very similar to a Golden Delicious. 

McIntosh:  Available mid August to late August.  Fruit beautiful deep red color, size variable. Flesh white, firm, tender, very juicy, flavor characteristically aromatic, perfumed, subacid.  Good cooking apple.

Honeycrisp: Available mid August.  Color is red mottled over a yellow background. Has excellent eating and keeping qualities
